Entry Requirements


Description
Five (5) CSEC subjects (CXC Levels), General Proficiency Level, (Grade III or Above) or five (5) GCE Level subjects (Grade C or above) and must include Mathematics, English Language, Physics and Chemistry.
Bachelor of Science in Biology or Chemistry
Any other qualification considered by the University of Guyana to be equivalent any of the above.
Applicants with five (5) subjects at the CSEC/IGCSE/GCE 'O' level, but without passes in English Language or Mathematics or Physics, may be permitted to write a University of Guyana Qualifying Examination.
Applicants without Physics are required to register for the Pre-University Physics course offered by the Faculty of Engineering and Technology or PHY 1200 offered by the Faculty of Natural Sciences, University of Guyana.
Mature applicants (21 years or older in the year of admission) with the relevant technical qualifications and experience and who have passed the University of Guyana Entrance Examination (UGEE) are eligible for admission into the programme and will be required to submit a Portfolio of their existing experience.
Guyana Technical Education Certificate (GTEE), Parts I and II, or equivalent, on or after 2017 in any of the following technician courses. (1) Electrical, (2) Mechanical, (3) Building and Civil Engineering BM.
Diploma, Associate Degree and Bachelor Degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering.
Associate of Science in Applied and Exploration Geology.
Diploma in Geological Engineering
